I've always been a dreamer, a reader and hopeless romantic. My story with art and creating starts as a kid in my childhood bedroom in a small little Texas town. I was always drawn to creating and writing, or reading whatever love story was the new best seller on the market. Photography was something that was always there and was always something I thought about, but I never really had the courage (or money) to pursue as a child. After having a couple of point and shoot cameras break I never dived into photography again until my daughter was born. At this time I was in college and I remember writing a speech about how I would continue college (spoiler alert- i did not) and that photography was "just a hobby." But that hobby turned into my souls desire.
Shortly after this my small biz was born. I fell in love with documenting moments. And capturing peoples emotions, their souls. The little moments in life that typically go missed or unnoticed. The smile before a child bursts into laughter, the look on dads face when he see's his daughter in her wedding gown for the very first time. The speeches that let everyone know the bride + groom were meant to be. All of the moments that show love and light in the most authentic form. And all of the stories that I love to document.
I dropped out of college and quit my job to start "Sierra Summer Photography" and decided to go for it. 4 years later, a few name changes, a lot of states and 200+ weddings later - HERE I AM! My mission as a photographer is to photograph your love story in its truest form.
My uncle had a DSLR camera when I was a kid. And he allowed me to use it, I was only 12 when I took this photo, and I still remember the spark it created in me for photography. Younger me would've never imaged starting a photography business only 8 years later! Next to it is one of my most recent newborn sessions. (I like to think he's looking down from heaven thinking I have the most badass job ever)
